Stephen Houlgate - Hegel On Being

Machinic Unconscious Happy Hour

CHAPTER

The Law of the Heart

Hagel: I think the logic has to have priority because it sets out what Hegel takes being to be. But would I get rid of phenomenology? No, absolutely not. It's very hard to read. There are some even passages as familiar as the master's slave dialectic if you drill down into individual sentences. And yet each is completely convinced that it's got the truth within its heart. This is an important articulation of the fundamental categories and forms of being. So if I were to choose, I'd have to go with the logic as being primary.
