Ginkgo's Business Model
Ginkgo was the first biotech company to do Y Combinator. Its business model is kind of like an AWS model, where you order compute and they send you a bill. The second part of our business is what we only do that for you because our job is to program a cell kind of once. That's not a very repeatable revenue stream. So in order for my business to work, I actually need something kind of like Apple has with an App Store model or what you would see in the farm industry with royalty business modelsor rev share in other industries.
