The socialist left in the us is incredibly divided, and i really don't think anyone can argue with so if you look at individual organizations. Within those disagreements, we see diverging class interests playing out. What mau reveals to us in this contest is that this contradiction does not have to be an antagonistic contradiction in all instances. If opportunists and chauvinists who call themselves socialists are actually willing to investigate, to self criticise and to correct their class collaboration is positions, then the contradiction can be worked out in a non antagonistic manner. We can't place some amorphous goal of left unity above all else and use it to justify a lack of struggle around these issues.
