What Is This Obsession With Perpetual Growth?
Price of food has gone up more than the overall inflation level. This is a real big hit on people on low incomes because food and heating your house are much bigger parts of their basket. And that's really what I think one of the big reasons why we're seeing real problems for people on benefits and people on the lowest incomes. If you don't have economic growth, then people don't get better off and you're in a less good position to deal with problems and crises when they arrive. We should be thinking about things other than growth. People would rather have farmers fields than houses. They'd rather have the sovereignty which Brexit may give us rather than the economic growth.
