Herod's Palace

The Via Dolorosa tradition wise goes back to Crusader period. Pontius Pilot living in the Antiniah Fortress is probably based on a misunderstanding of, or just a misconception of where a Roman official would be. And there's many reasons to basically say that he would be over in Herod's Palace residing there. This is the place where the proctorators or the, um, uh, Pro councils will, will be staying in any dignitary there. We can't say a whole lot about it archaeologically because we either have no access to it or it has been removed for one reason. In fact, the archeology gives us greater confidence that this isn't the right location.
