Your Value Isn't in How Many Bricks Did You Make Today
If you're a slave, what's the only question in your life that matters? It's when your Egyptian overseer asks you, how many bricks did you make today? In Genesis chapter 1, God has a message to his people: I'm not Pharaoh. I'm different. Your days will start with rest because your value comes from what I say. To rest is to trust that what God has done is enough. And if you haven't picked up on my sarcasm, just one more. Aren't you glad we don't go to social media and see how many likes we have to tell us how important that we are?
