The Importance of Conservatism

I've often been struck by the number of new Australians who tell me how much I love the country and believe in its values. Can I switch to your latest book? It deals with another political ideal that's only a little less unpopular among many in our universities and media and intelligence here, and that's conservatism. How would you describe what conservatism is and by the way, what is not? Now, that's a tough gig, isn't it, given that we don't have all day?
