Xenophon offers soldiers money as a reward if they join his army. He also promises them land, oxen and other stuff in kind. Xenophon here is probably thinking to himself about Alcibiades who we'll get to eventually in the cost of glory podcast. And Suithi's actually probably knew Alcibiades.
