The bill was projected to not only pay for itself, but lower the federal deficit by as much as 300 billions over a decade. By all accounts, this is a very ambitious bill. Covers a huge amount of ground and spends a lot of money. But it's not billed back better, right? It's less than that, but it's still very big.
This weekend, Democrats passed legislation that would make historic investments to fight climate change and lower the cost of prescription drugs — paid for by raising taxes on businesses.
How did the party finally make progress on the bill, and what effects will it have?
