The Importance of Spiritual Vitality in a Flock
Do you know if this person is even converted and on what basis do you make that? Is it just that they walked an aisle, made a profession, were baptized and been a member for so long? Are there signs of spiritual vitality, spiritual life? Do you have an idea of the marital status of your flock? And I don't mean by that whether they're married or single. Have you ever had a talk with them as a couple? This gets into some very touchy issues perhaps. If I were to be preaching Ephesians 5, read that text, would you hear that with joy? Would you be wanting to dig your elbow into your husband's ribs?"
