The Importance of Modernization in the Indo-Pacific

There are different approaches among Europeans. You have European navies that have their own planning and approach based on their own geographical priorities. And then you have a fair number of Europeans that rely on mainly NATO, of course, and the EU to tell them what to do with their own assets. So basically most of the assets are still in the Euro-Atlantic area but indeed there is a growing focus and I would say growing dilemma regarding the Indo-Pacific. The fact is that the European navies are lacking availability and they are already kind of overstretched. But that also implies to have the necessary capabilities to make such long-distance deployments and I think a lot of European Navies are not there
