How to Deal With Hate Mail
Don't respond to hate mail with ad hominem attacks. Instead, lay out the person's argument for them in a way that makes it clear you're right and they're wrong. Look through email for things that the person said that are not very good arguments. Make them better. And what you will find, what I found in virtually 99% of the cases, the people right back.
