Drama is all about polarizing personality conflicts over status, which recruit other people into the process. It's best to focus on the smallest, most inconsequential things possible and blow them completely out of proportion in a personal sort of manichean struggle between great epic sides, good and evil, clashing. Substantive political discussions about meaningful things that we can actually affect in the world are no way that boring crap is going to turn people off.
