Forgiveness doesn't mean reconciliation. One doesn't have to return to the same relationship or accept the same harmful behaviors from an offender. This could be particularly problematic in contexts in which this would facilitate the dynamics of prolonged intimate partner violence. Forgiveness happens inside skin, in thes crawling in my skin.
