The wolf of ornaro by k s viloso is set in a secondary world that is very reminiscent of the philippines. Chan is a a story set in ancient china and it is based on a real historical figure, the founder of the ming dynasty. And i made really deliberate decisions when i was writing the story not to use words that tied it to specific places. Use dobo or sushi, or a or a dim sum, like i never use words that would make you think that this is based on any place.
