Are There Trade-Offs for Women of Color From Immigrant Communities?
There are trade offs that individuals have to consider and weigh in deciding whether or not to run for office. I think one of the things I come back to a lot in the book is, you know, we have this larger context where people really feel like their choices of where to run are squeezed into these very small number of majority minority districts. And then within those districts, I really saw persistent and systemic challenges for women of color, the Asian Americans and Latinos I talk to in this book, to be recognized as viable candidate in those districts.
