The Power of Pause

From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, it's just thoughts, feelings, sensations. Instead of following your mind forwards into the day, ask yourself: what is it that is aware of my experience? The presence of awareness lies in the background of my experience. Give your attention to that. Begin with three or four times a day and then at some stage, I suspect that you will find you'll be in the heat of the moment. But there must be pauses. There may only be ten seconds but because you've spent five minutes in the morning just establishing this connection with the background, you kind of know how to go back there. So now that you know
