The Theory of Moral Sentiments

Good judgment in the social sciences presumably requires that you're able to fully identify the potentials and limits of each of these different perspectives. That's why people like adam smith, or another one of my favorites, joseph schumpeter, in the twentieth century, drew upon a variety of disciplinary perspective. Schumpeter certainly was interested in in a book like capitalism, socialism and democracy. Was interested in demography, politics, micro and macro economics and so on. There's a tention between that and what you might call wisdom, which is having a broader, more holistic perspective.
