I think this book is really freeing, and that actually, you might not be able to access some of the truth of something depending on where you are in your life. There's there's a place in the book where I talk about this notion of incubation. It comes from literary criticism,. Rita Felsky has this great book called Hooked. She talks about people study the way in which a work of art will say song. And then all of a sudden, it's on spin 101.
If only you had 15 more minutes, or were 5 years younger, or a year into the future — then, things would be better. Maybe even *you* would be better.
But maybe time is more than a sparring partner. More than something you curse or see as a thief. It might just be an integral part of what it means to be human.
