What you are trying to do is to make nonincleran representation of the map. You need to have the knowledge to make thes imputs work. Then it's just a matter of turning parameters and tring properly the network. When you think about rolling out a system like that, i see a number of challenges. One is the scale. If you want to do something for like a whole city, the data must be enormous. But even within that, i'm sure, as the data set gets wider, you're dealing with more issues.
