The Firestorm in London
In August of 1666, there had been an attack on a Dutch village named Tashilling. England was at war with the Dutch Republic at this point in time. The English had set fire to a number of houses and were celebrating what was seen as a successful win in the Anglo-Dutch Wars. But the Dutch had been actively appalled and horrified by this because it seemed to go against the nature of warfare. So they found whatever weapons they could and they attacked people. There were lots of other attacks and lots of other rumours of arson. Monday dawns across the rest of England. But night and day have no meaning in the raging firestorm. Entire homes detonate with the force
