Is There a Difference Between Childhood Fiction and Realistic Fiction?

A big pull of childhood fiction is actually the cover art, at least for me. And i think that's why i read a lot of, like, the baby sitters club and also books like ramona. I just remember thinking, like, yes, there were no like, asians back then. So i guess that's why they don't have an asian character,. or they just have one asian character - claudia kashe. The moment that i realized it did sort of affect me was when i realized every time i wrote any sort of like creative writing assignment, all my characters in it would be white.
