Phonology - What Do You Do When You Start Making Vowels?
William: I start with a very simple horizontal line of those constants starting with place of articulation. Then I think, do I want voicing? Do I not want voicing? If I'm going to happen, what's going to happen when the single stops occur between vowels? From there, everything follows. It depends entirely on my mood. But I'm very, very fond of tone and vowel length. Which gives me a lot of word-shaped possibilities within a small confine.
