I saw quite frequently actually that very well intentioned people would come together with these quite high ideals. And they would end up generating some of the very things that they were seeking to change in the world. I really thought a lot about that over the years. Like, why is it that happens? We're all attracted to different things for reasons that are often beyond just what we're conscious of. If you want to do good in the world then perhaps there's experiences you had in the past that were negative somehow and you're motivated to seek to generate environments where others are less likely to be exposed to such things in the future as well.
