The Biggest Case for Automation?

There seems to be this very strong correlation between people who wanted the free whiskey and people who had to deal with data pipelines all day. The biggest case for really advanced automation is it makes life easier. Is there a name for the broad class of tools which solves this problem? Not yet. To be really frank, there's a lot of debate currently.
