What Is the Point of a Paywall?

When we brought in the paywall, we also made the news letter into a subscriber benefit. So out of those hundred thousand people who no longer came to the sight as casual visitors, some small proportion of them were converting to become paying subscribers. N i think back then, the initial subscriber base was onlywi two or three thousand. But that still struck us as quite a decent number,. We were trying something that i think had not been tried before. It's essentially to sell a a form of reviewing or criticism for journalism. I don't, i know that people will commonly call s a curation sit and ten years ago, people also commonly spoke of aggregators.
