Hester, a Little Girl in Telling Stories

Hester Rosemont was told a story by Miss Fernaval of an old lady who took her to the holly trees and lulled her to sleep. But when she heard about another little girl out in the snow coaxing and tempting her, Hester knew it wasn't true. She tried to warn Miss Fernaval away from that other child: "Keep her from that child! It will lure her to her death" The two women argued for some time until Dorothy arrived with Rosamund's breakfast. After they had finished their argument Miss Fernaval left without telling Hester any more stories.
