I'm not convinced that people need a smart meter to know that boiling water costs money with electricity or putting the heating up. But they're dwarfed really by the massive rise in fuel bills. 26 pounds, I think on the last year's bill was towards the multi-billion pound cost of fitting smart meters to every home in the country. They only give you information. They don't save any money. It's up to you how you use that information.
