Many young couples have had their entire idea of what a wedding is formed such that if it doesn't fulfill, then they'll consider it to be something of a failure. The glittering, wealthy, upper class have generally throughout history, memorialized and solemnized these events by throwing a huge giant party. But that's very different than say your average 25 year old couple and what they should do.
