Special burials had been going on for thousands of years in various human societies around the world. The artifacts excavated during this period cannot be described as local to the area. Basalt and copper likely came from the north, where seramic wares could have come from the south. It is likely that these societies were sedentary and agricultural, as is evidence from the remains found there.
