The Metaphor of Fitness and Cognitive Load
A lot of people just believe that if you look at a 20 year old piece of software, it must be terrible inside. A lot of that is just because they haven't had good fitness around things like psychomatocomplexity and other things that are governable by fitness functions or metrics. I was asked to take a look at the code base for a point, a prospective client that shall remain very nameless in this case. And we had some good news and some bad news. Good news is it's cohesive. The bad news: It's all two and a half million lines.
