Trump's Tweet About Crypto Libra and Bitcoin
Libra was not a US dollar back stablecoin instead had its value pegged to a basket of currencies. In many ways this harken back to John Maynard Keynes original proposal for a bank or after World War II at the Bretton Woods Conference. 75 years on the US still seemed pretty not keen on the idea of some sort of free floating SDR type instrument. Now particularly antagonistic towards Facebook's plan was then Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin who has been an outspoken critic of Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies and other things in the space.
