For Japanese Americans, for whatever reason, it was gardening and design. My dad didn't have any interest in becoming a designer and artist, but he did have some innate talent. He had a mentor, a white guy, who actually kind of shepherded him in that. And he worked with a lot of other Japanese Americans, even though there's not a lot of Japanese Americans in terms of per capita. For me, when I experienced the stereotype, I had no idea about the gardening thing. It was really an awful job.
