A lot of things that OpenStreetMap should have done over the last decade, ish, right? Like building their own mobile client would be something open. Or why don't we go to JSON instead of XML, right? Simple things like that. But OSM doesn't achieve anything anymore because it's essentially committee-based and committees never do anything. The next thing that's going to blow up OSM is going to be one of two things: automation or distributed map data.
