The Golden Ratio
The golden ratio is the answer to many problems within mathematics. It may be that certain symmetries, mathematical proportions, maybe ratios, harmonies, which exist out there in the world, you can't call those beautiful in themselves, but those features give rise to perceptions of beauty in the perceiver. Plato would say that actually there are features of the human mind, which are symmetrical in the same way and it's this match of features in the world and features of thehuman mind that give rise to certain pleasurable sensations.
