Antibiotics for Neonatal Sepsis

Some immunosuppressive medications are known to be nephrotoxic and interact with other medications. The most appropriate choices in this case would be vancomycin and cephalium again. In neonatal sepsis, our go-to agents are usually going to be ampicillin and gentomycin. Always discontinue antibiotics if cultures are negative after 48 hours and suspicion for infection is low based on inflammatory markers.
