The Importance of Timing in Venture Capital
Venture capital is a very American concept. It's an American concept that hasn't done well with the Indian, either the founder mentality or the market reality. I think VCs came to India at a time when we weren't ready for that growth. Most of the bigger VCs of today came to India between 2002 and 2010. Private equity has struggled to deploy capital in India because promoter was just not, the iPad I was never there. But I actually think it came earlier to India than it should have.
