How to Sedate a Patient With Epilepsy

The patient and status epilepticus needs to have sedation on board. If you are going to sedate, what do you do? Then start with analgesia. Analygesia can be a driver of delirium and is just inhumane. You give them whatever they need until their pain is controlled. It should probably not be driven by using your analgesics as sedatives. These are not good sedative drugs, opioids. They do have a sedative effect, but it's a side effect which is going to have a lot of adverse effects.
