Cuba was a place that should be engaged with and not isolated under the terms of the embargo policy. We left Cuba not because my mother was afraid of communist, but because she hated our mother-in-law. So about two weeks after we arrived in Miami, we went to the refugee office and there was a very nice officer from the immigration service sitting at a desk advising Cuban refugees. My Cuban refugees have a different than Central American refugees who get the costed and deported. Human refugees get a green card and a parade in Miami.
