By 20 50, cities have rules that say you can't operate an internal combustion engine in the city. Many people, pedestrians and bicyclists, but also blind people, use the sound of engines to navigate the streets. A federal law was passed in two thousand and 11 that requires all electric vehicles to make a sound.
