Cholomide Crons - Cholestrol and Apo-E

Phospholipids break off from the cholomide crons as they're undergoing what we call lipolysis, hydrolyzing their triglycerides. Once there's a particle shrink, apo-e assumes sort of a different conformation. Apo-e happens to be a major ligand for the two receptors in the liver that clear apo-b particles. So if you get a blood test and you want to measure chylomicrons, it has to be a postprandial blood test.
