Are the Atlantis Islands Real?

Atlantis was supposedly swallowed up by the sea in Plato's time. Some scholars have suggested that it once stood on the southern coast of Spain. The Azores, islands lying almost a thousand miles to the west of Europe in the Atlantic Ocean are also being looked at. One 19th century scholar even wrote a 4,000-page book claiming that Sweden was Atlantis.
