Will You Accept That Condition?
Mr. Roarke has his last chance at the Manhattan Bank building. If he doesn't get this commission, he will be flat broke and without hope of earning any money in the near future. So they agree, the board of directors agreed to build the building on his terms. They give him the commission. On one condition: We wanted to just make a few changes in the facade. He could have said, no, I'm not brave enough to be a coward and give in here. But all he did was turn it down. The decision is final. It's yes or no. You can't argue with this anymore.
