The Battle of the Potomac

The army of the Potomac was in better shape than when it left because they were suntan. They knew exactly how to kill hogs and cattle and dress them out. The immigrants off the boat from urban cities in Europe couldn't have done that. Sherman hated Secretary of War Stan Stanton, who had lectured him about black slaves being treated badly by division commanders. He told Stanton: "How were these black slaves treated? I don't know."
