Acute Kidney Injury in the CICU?

In the CICU, 19 out of 20 times it's going to be acute tubular necrosis from hemodynamic insult. The treatment for obstructive uropathy is not dialysis; we need to relieve the obstruction. If it's an acute glomerular infritis, like a pulmonary renal syndrome, you're going to need to give immunosuppressants. And again, that's an important diagnosis to make because there's a specific intervention that you need to take.
