Corporate Profits Are Driving Inflation in Australia
Research from the Australia Institute shows roughly 70% of the markup in prices for the things we buy relates to business price gouging. 69% of the growth in prices above the RBA's target is due to unusually high corporate profits. If we didn't have these excess profits, inflation would have been a little bit above and they would have been tapping the brakes rather than slamming on the brakes.
