I totally agree about the motivation point. I think it's vastly under understood and underrated. The assumption that extrinsic motivations are sufficient and in fact, they're so insufficient that actually they completely undermine often the intrinsic motivation. So get to know who your learners are and what's motivating them. And this is a huge shift for academics who come on the course. It takes nine months to develop like one piece of learning across H E and L and D,. which is just insane because by the time that you've done it, you've spent an X amount of resource already.
