The Great Canadian Maple Syrupist
A total of 17 people were convicted in connection to the Great Canadian Maple Syrupist. Avique Caron was sentenced to five years in prison, with a fine of $1.2 million. Richard Valier admitted that he took part in the heist for profit and because he had developed a taste for luxury goods. The crown announced it would appeal the decision to the Supreme Court of Canada.
