The Ego of Art
I think being an artist is fantastic from a personal level. I've been dealing with these issues and ideas since the mid 80s and things have gone off a cliff. So I consider myself a complete failure but I think everyone's been a failure. People that have a very public optimistic presence privately will be despairing. It's too existential and enormous for most people to deal with. There are some terrible artists who do terrible work about nature it's just, you know, the luck of the world. That's not necessarily good, it just a description like a plumber.
