The History of Vietnamese Chinese Relations Post American War in Vietnam
There has long been this myth that China and North Vietnam have been, you know, fighting war after war after war. They fought between up to a period of around the year 1000. And we also have the Chinese actually serving as protector when the French come in the late 19th century for colonial rule. The Vietnamese are now pretty good at sort of telling people what they want to hear. But I view them today a bit like Mexico, which Mexico will quietly cooperate with us in many ways.
